'The Sun': Chelsea ponder Ronaldo move

English publication 'The Sun' reports that Chelsea could make a stunning swoop for Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo, should 'Los Blancos' look to lure Eden Hazard to the Spanish capital.

The aformentioned source claims that the Portuguese is growing tired of life in Spain for a variety of reasons including: being taken to court over an alleged failure to pay £13.1m in tax, no longer being the best-paid player in the world and having not been offered a new contract that he was allegedly promised.
That led to suggestions that Ronaldo could return to Manchester United, though the arrival of Alexis Sanchez appears to have put paid to the move.
However, 'The Sun' claims that Chelsea are pondering a move for the 32-year-old and that the player would be open to making the switch to Stamford Bridge.
There is a fear in the west London that star man Eden Hazard could be lured away from the club in the summer, with Real long-term admirers of the Belgian.
Now, it is claimed that the 'Blues' may let the 27-year-old leave, providing they secure Ronaldo as part of the deal.
Whilst the move sounds somewhat farfetched, the publication quotes a Chelsea source who argues that it in fact makes a lot of sense, saying: “Ronaldo to Chelsea would be a stunning deal, but it makes a lot of sense if you think about it.
“Chelsea need more attacking players and if United don’t want Ronaldo, it’s very unlikely he would go to Liverpool or Man City because of the rivalry.
“So that leaves Chelsea as the only club who could afford his wages.
“It would also mean he was living in a cosmopolitan city, which is something that is important to him now he has four children.”
Ronaldo showed no sign of the speculation affecting him as he displayed nerves of steel to score twice from the penalty spot in the 4-1 win over Valencia on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo recently told 'Dongquidi', that he "loves" Real Madrid and wants to stay there for a long time.
