Zidane named 2017’s best Coach

As predicted, Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane was named the ‘Best FIFA Football Coach’ for 2017 at Monday night’s swanky awards ceremony at the London Palladium.
The Frenchman successfully saw off competition from fellow nominees Massimiliano Allegri (Juventus) and Antonio Conte (Chelsea) to take home the much sought-after award.
Zidane came out on top in the vote, with the voting process split evenly between four equally-weighted categories: national team managers, national team captains, selected members of the press and fans.
The ‘Los Blancos’ boss was the heavy favourite to win the award after yet another trophy-laden season which saw his side take home the La Liga, Champions League and Club World Cup trophies. During his time at the helm, Real have not only won a number of trophies but they have broken records in the process.
Everything Zidane has touched at the Bernabeu since taking charge has turned to gold and FIFA have now recognised his impact. In winning the award, Zidane succeeds Claudio Ranieri who was handed the prize last year after performing miracles with Leicester City and propelling them to the most unlikely of Premier League titles.
Zidane’s fledgling managerial career continues to develop. There are very few bosses who have achieved what Zidane has achieved in so little time in the hot seat, let alone been named ‘The Best’.
