Reports in England claim that Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is ready to launch a £20m bid for Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater.
English publication 'The Daily Mail' reports that the Londoners have held an interest in the player all summer and that they are now prepared to go official.
Drinkwater starred as Leicester won the Premier League two seasons ago, with his vision and ability to play a pass being considered as key reasons why Jamie Vardy scored so many goals.
The England international made 43 appearances in all competitions for the 'Foxes' last season and played 886 out of 900 minutes during their heroic Champions League campaign.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is eager to strengthen his midfield further this summer, despite having already signed Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco and the Italian sees Drinkwater as the ideal candidate.
Despite the interest from the 'Blues', Craig Shakespeare's side are reluctant to lose the former Manchester United trainee and would hold out for a fee closer to £30m for the 27-year-old.
