There have been question marks over the winger's future all summer, with Jose Mourinho's Manchester United heavily interested in the Croatia international. However, after an impressive performance against Bayern, including an assist for Eder's second goal of the game, 58-year-old Spalletti outlined his plans to keep the player.
Speaking after his side's victory, Spalletti said: "Our intention is to keep Perisic if possible. I have known him for a long time and it is obvious he's a world class player."
Though the former Roma boss could not definitively say whether the 28-year-old would be staying in Milan.
"Whether he plays well or not doesn't really change things. Of course, we want to keep him but there are a lot of considerations to be made and I cannot say for sure whether he will stay or not," he explained.
If Perisic were to stay in Milan if would represent another blow for Jose Mourinho, with the United boss having already admitted that he may have to settle for just one more signing this summer rather than the two he had hoped for.
