Man stabs friend over girl at Madalla.

A 23-year-old man, Haruna Musa, has been arrested by vigilantes for allegedly stabbing his friend, Yahaya, over a girl at Unguwar Tumbu, Madalla.

A resident of the area, who identified himself as Danjuma, said that the incident happened Monday night, after the victim went to visit the girl at her house in the area.

He said that problem started after the accused man, said to be the girl’s ex-boyfriend, discovered that the victim went behind his back and started dating the girl.
Danjuma said that the victim took advantage of the misunderstanding between the girl and his friend and persuaded her to befriend him.
“Actually, it was when Musa discovered that his friend was going out with his ex-girlfriend that he vowed to teach him a lesson,” the source said. “That Monday night, as the victim was sitting with the girl at the back of her house, Musa came from behind and stabbed him on the neck and hands.” 
He said that the victim was rescued and taken  to hospital in the area, while the accused was apprehended by some youth who handed him to vigilantes in the area.
A member of the vigilantes, who preferred anonymity, confirmed the incident, saying that the accused person was handed to the police.
Efforts to get reaction of the police in Madalla were not successful, but a police source who did not want his name mentioned said that the suspect would be charged to court after investigation had been concluded.
