Manchester City seal £27m Brazilian on five-year deal after beating Barca to his signature

Manchester City have confirmed the £27million signing of Palmeiras forward Gabriel Jesus. Just 24 hours after completing Leroy Sane's £37m move from Schalke, City fought off competition from Barcelona to capture the exciting 19-year-old Brazilian winger. Like Sane, Jesus - who is representing his country at the Rio Olympics - has agreed a five-year contract at the Etihad although he will stay with Palmeiras until Christmas when the Brazilian season ends before joining Pep Guardiola's side.
